How to connect Gemini CLI
- Register the server (this is the string the AI agents page prints):
gemini mcp add --scope user --transport http squadbear https://app.squadbear.com/mcpOr add an httpUrl entry to ~/.gemini/settings.json.
- Start
geminiand run/mcp auth squadbear. Complete the SquadBear consent screen. - Check
/mcp list- SquadBear tools should show as connected. - Call
get_context. If it returns your identity and workspace, you can act.

What you can ask
Leave, coverage, timesheets, attendance, health, processes, reports - whatever your role, modules and scopes allow. Gemini does not get a back door. Sensitive writes still need your approval in the app.

Does SquadBear work with Gemini?
Yes. Gemini CLI speaks HTTP MCP. Run gemini mcp add --scope user --transport http squadbear https://app.squadbear.com/mcp, then /mcp auth squadbear. Any Gemini client that accepts that URL can use the same endpoint.
Is this Gemini on the web or the CLI?
The documented path is Gemini CLI. The same MCP URL works in any Gemini surface that can add an HTTP MCP server. We do not ship a second, Gemini-only catalog.
Same URL as Claude?
Yes. /mcp, like Claude, Grok, Cursor and Codex. ChatGPT uses /mcp/chatgpt.
Can I put it in a config file instead?
Yes. You can add an httpUrl entry to ~/.gemini/settings.json instead of the add command. Authenticate with /mcp auth squadbear either way.
