Turn modules on or off

Hide the parts of SquadBear your team doesn't use without losing any data

SquadBear ships with Time Tracking, Team Health, Company Documents and Checklists as optional modules — hide any of them from a workspace that isn't using it yet.

How

Go to Admin → Workspace → Modules and toggle any of the four: Time Tracking, Team Health, Company Documents, Checklists. Leave, people and teams, and core admin stay on always — they're the spine everything else hangs off, so they aren't toggleable.

Turning a module off removes it from the sidebar and dashboard for everyone, immediately. Nothing is deleted: its data and history stay exactly as they were, and turning it back on restores everything instantly — no re-sync, no rebuild step. (While a module is off, its reminder emails pause too — nobody gets nudged about a checklist they can't see.)

Where a module's own settings live

The Modules card is the master on/off switch. Each module's own configuration lives as the last item in that module's sidebar group — not in the Admin group — so it sits next to the feature it governs: Time tracking → Settings (backdate window and time categories), Time tracking → Projects, and Team Health → Health settings (the models teams rate against). Issue-tracker connections are workspace-wide, so they live at Admin → Integrations.

If someone still has an old link into a module that's now off, they land on an explanation page ("Time Tracking is turned off") instead of a broken one. Admins get a one-click "Turn on Time Tracking" button right there; anyone else is told to ask an admin.

A connected agent can still see a disabled module's tools listed, but calling one returns a structured module_disabled error naming the module and where to re-enable it — so the agent can relay that to whoever it's working for, instead of failing silently or guessing.

Every plan includes every module. Toggles control what's visible in this workspace, not what you're entitled to.

Worked example

Northlake doesn't run team health checks yet. Marta turns off Team Health at Admin → Workspace → Modules — it disappears from the sidebar for all 15 people. Three months later she turns it back on to trial with the Platform team, and nothing needs reconfiguring: the module comes back exactly as it was left.
