Leave reports — absence, liability and Bradford
The three leave analytics — an absence summary, the accrued-liability snapshot and the Bradford factor — with CSV export
Insights → Leave reports turns approved leave into the three numbers HR and finance actually ask for: who was away and how much, what unused balance is worth on the books, and which absence patterns are worth a conversation. It's a managers-and-admins page — employees see their own balance and history on My Leave, not this roll-up.
Absence summary
Pick a date range (the presets cover this month, last month, the last three months and year-to-date) and the absence report lists every person with approved leave in that window, the number of days per leave type, and a total. This is the "who's been off, and for what" view — the one to pull before a planning meeting or a payroll cutoff. Export it with the CSV button to hand to whoever owns the spreadsheet.
Leave liability
Balances that have accrued but haven't been taken are a real liability — time the company owes. The liability report snapshots, for a chosen year, each person's remaining balance per leave type, so finance can carry it. Unlimited leave types (sick leave in the default setup) don't accrue a balance and so don't appear here. This report exports to CSV too.
Bradford factor
The Bradford factor weights frequent, short absences more heavily than a single long one (the score is spells × spells × total days), which is why it surfaces patterns a raw day count hides. The report lists each person's spell count, total days and resulting score for the chosen range. Treat it as a conversation-starter, never an automated trigger — a high score can be a chronic condition or a caring responsibility, and SquadBear deliberately stops at showing the number.
