Run your first team health check
Create a check, get participants to respond, close it, and turn the result into an action
This walks through the whole lifecycle of a health check, from creating it to acting on what it finds.
How
- Open Team Health → Health checks in the sidebar.
- Click New health check. Pick a Team (its active members are pre-ticked, and you can add people from other teams), a Model (Pulse 5, say), an optional Title, and an Anonymity mode. Set an auto-close date or leave it open-ended. Create & open starts it immediately and notifies everyone invited; Create draft lets you review first.
- Participants rate each dimension on the run page, with an optional comment (shown per the run's anonymity mode) and an optional up/flat/down "felt direction" vote.
- Watch participation from the runs list (a submitted/invited count on each row) or the run's Participants panel.
- During a live discussion, a facilitator can point everyone at one dimension and start a shared countdown timer, right from the run page.
- Move the run forward — Collect ratings → Discuss → Close. Closing is a separate, explicitly confirmed step, because it permanently anonymizes Alias/Anonymous responses. There's no undo.
- Read the results: per-dimension averages, a distribution chart, a radar view, and — once closed — an AI-generated summary of the comments.
- Turn a result straight into an action from the run page (title, owner, due date); it also shows up on the workspace-wide Actions list.
Worked example
Marta runs a Pulse 5 check for Northlake's 5-person Platform team, anonymous, no auto-close date. Within two days, 4 of 5 have submitted. She moves the run into discussion, points focus at Workload — the lowest-scoring dimension — gives the team two minutes to talk about it, then closes the run. The AI summary flags repeated mentions of on-call load in the comments. She creates an action: "Rebalance Platform's on-call rotation," owner Marta, due in a week.
